Hexagon to Demonstrate Data-Driven Solutions at Batimat

WORKPLAN, CABINET VISION and ALPHACAM’s Complete CAD/CAM and ERP solution for wood professionals at French Trade Fair

As part of Hexagon’s philosophy of supporting data-driven Smart factories, the latest release of WORKPLAN, CABINET VISION and ALPHACAM will be on show at the forthcoming Batimat Exhibition in France, from November 4 to 8.

Visitors to stand F032 in hall 6, will see how the WORKPLAN project management system combining ERP and MES, interfaces directly with ALPHACAM and CABINET VISION to optimize and precisely manage production in this rapidly developing sector. Christophe MAS, WORKPLAN Product Manager, explains: "All technical data and programs are synchronized in one click in the software.

“WORKPLAN's functions bring real added value to its users in the wood sector. The latest release contains a simple and efficient inventory management solution, incorporating aspects such as stock entry/exit movements, inventory, scrap management and traceability. The system is even more efficient when interfaced with ALPHACAM. As soon as the program is validated in ALPHACAM, the transfer of data and information from panels and plates to WORKPLAN is completed in just a few clicks.”

ALPHACAM is a CAD/CAM solution that generates machining programs for all types of CNC 3-4-5 axis machines. Jean Patrice Groleau, Director of SYSTELL, ALPHACAM’s distributor in France, says: “ALPHACAM significantly reduces programming times by automatically managing individual or continuous nesting and machining according to constraints."

In the latest version, ALPHACAM presented its new interface with WORKPLAN, as well as a new simulation integrating the NCSIMUL software. The post-processor engine directly configures and deploys a simulation session to achieve more realistic movements, as well as the ability to support additional hardware that has been under-utilized or ignored.

WORKPLAN 2020.0 also improves its interface to CABINET VISION. It is now possible to import the complete list of manufacturing operations of a CABINET VISION project into a WORKPLAN quote, incorporating the scheduled times calculated according to predefined rules. This makes it easier for users to effectively plan multiple projects.

CABINET VISION allows carpenters, planners and kitchen designers to manage all projects, from design to program generation for numerical controls.

CABINET VISION version 12 also offers its users new functions, including a brand new interface for managing furniture and drawer assembly methods, and a connection manager to drive part connection machining. A new radial menu option replaces the former right-click, and the backup interface has been redesigned for ease of use.

A link with Leica 3D tele-meters has been incorporated in CABINET VISION, in addition to the Leica Disto 910. The 3D Disto Leica Geosystems is a unique instrument for capturing and projecting accurate three-dimensional measurements. “The speed and accuracy of 3D Disto offers unprecedented efficiency,” says Jérôme MARANDA, Director of CABINET VISION’s French distributor, CVF.

“The Leica utility is an easy-to-use dialog box. Simply point the laser at the desired location, then click on the button in CABINET VISION to take the measurement. The utility guides you step by step through each measurement of the part. CABINET VISION designs the walls, places doors, windows, switches, electrical outlets and plumbing markings. All that remains is to place the furniture in the CABINET VISION project.”

He concludes by saying that eliminating manual data entry, this link saves time, eliminates errors and ensures that measurements are correct, first time, every time.
